Soccer shoes are heel-less shoes, containing spikes on their outsole. These spikes increase the grip of the soccer shoes to the soft grassy ground. In previous days, the spikes were integral part of the outsole of the soccer shoes, which were entirely made of plastic. This resulted in easy worn out of the spikes. Hence, best “feel” on the ball is obtained by highly expensive quality leathers, like, Kangaroo skin, Pittards leather, traditional calfskin leather etc. Kangaroo leather produces lightweight soccer shoes, which are expensive & deliver the most intricate touch. But they are susceptible to wear-n-tear. Calfskin leathers though produce heavier boots, but still they are preferable for beginners & medium-level players, as they are least expensive and offer long lasting durability.
